Realistic NBA Trade Ideas – 5th Edition

We are coming down to the wire here in the NBA trade world as we are less than 2 weeks away from the deadline. I think we are finally starting to see which guys are actually available (OG Anunoby, Bones Hyland, etc.) and what teams are looking to make a move (Mavs, Clippers, Heat, Suns, etc.).

1) The Kings trade Alex Len, Terrence Davis, and a 2nd round pick to the Magic for Mo Bamba

I see this as a strong, risk-free move for the Kings who are in dire need of a backup rim protector behind Sabonis. They are getting absolutely nothing from Alex Len and Richaun Holmes is hit or miss every night so it would be nice to pair Bamba and Holmes as an either/or off the bench. The Magic would be getting expiring contracts and a pick for a guy that doesn’t play all that often on a loaded young frontcourt.

2) The Heat trade Kyle Lowry and a 2nd round pick to the Clippers for John Wall and Marcus Morris

There have been rumors of a potential Lowry for Wall swap, which would reunite Lowry with Kawhi and give the Clippers a pass-first point guard. The Heat get a solid starting 4 in Morris which would provide a strong pairing in Bam and Morris. I personally don’t see this a good deal for either team but it could make sense based on what they are both looking for.

3) The Thunder trade Lu Dort, Tre Mann, and two 1st round picks to the Clippers for OG Anunoby

This is my favorite trade for OG. I think if he ended up in OKC we could see a scary, scary team. Pairing Anunoby with SGA, Giddey, Jalen Williams, and Chet along with all the strong role players they have developed is a perfect nucleus. You would have defense, a top 5 scorer, shooting, and length across all positions. The Raptors get Dort and Mann back to bolster their struggling backcourt and then can gain asset flexibility with 2 first rounders.
